Biggest US Soccer Match Ever

Spanish football newspaper Marca’s headline for today says “Madness”.

Todays friendly between Manchester United and Real Madrid has sold 109,000 tickets which will break US attendance records for a soccer match.

For comparison, the last International Champions Cup match at Yankee Stadium had sold just under it’s capacity of 50,000.

Although no Robin Van Persie – Welbeck, Rooney and Mata will be leading the Manchester offense.

Real Madrid will not have their star winger Cristiano Ronaldo or new Columbian signing James Rodriguez, but like their lineup against Roma, Bale will probably play next to Isco and one of Lucas or Raul de Tomas.
